Growing raspberries from seed

When growing plants from the seeds in the berries, is it better to bury the seeds or just scatter on the surface?

I get a lot of blackberry seedlings from fallen berries. All I do is rake the ground occasionally while clearing fallen leaves. Seedlings sprout up in Oct, Nov, then again starting in April.

So I would say scatter on loose soil and rake lightly.
