I tried to keep this scientific, not strictly observational, so, I counted. For each crop, I examined 100 fruits on at least 4 separate branches on different parts of the tree. So, for each crop, here is the # of observed PC scars: Apple, Williams Pride. - 2 So, I did spray the stone fruits. I don't know if the PC is just very late, or mostly gone this year. Bt, I feel pretty confident I will be in good shape.

Dennis- Pretty much the same here...but May had over 8 inches of rain and was cold (we had snow at one point)... I still think the peak is yet to come. I've found a few hits on the cots, One on the apples, and maybe 5 on some sweet cherries (that are really sizing up quick)... My peaches are still not even out of petal fall!

They're all at my place, partying hard.

I don't know - we've has a very warm week, 80's, lows in the 60's. Most fruit is about the diameter of a nickel. Iris are dying, peonies are blooming, poppies and lupines too. I think they hit before this, and I honestly think there was a big population crash because of the 2012 freeze. There was literally NO fruit on anything, not even on crab apples, ornamental pears, wild prunus species, or Mt Ash. So, no place to breed. Interesting to say the least, I keep monitoring to see, and keep seeing little.

Here in southeastern NY an occasional year of low PC pressure is normal. This year we've had no biting insects so far, even though there's been plenty of rain- now that's rare.
