| This same issue is happening to my blackberries and some raspberries. Aside from some holes in the plants, i have seen the same pattern on stems two brown lines about 1/4 to 1/2 inch apart. they appear to be like shallow cuts around the stem. Sometimes the leaves above start to wilt. the branches easily snap off there as if they were partially cut. i have also seen some of the stems start to get a brown bruise on them.
any ideas what it is and how to make it stop. all plants are in containers. |

| Cane borers, research "raspberry cane borer". The damage is caused by the larva of a beetle. Cut off below the lowest ring and discard. |
