Last one. Once came dies it appears to turn black/brown at ground level working its way up.

Check for borers at the base.

I would guess either cane borer or else root rot.

The above info will help you identify if it is a borer.

If the plants are fairly new, or they have been getting lots of water, root rot is also a possibility. I had that on a couple of canes when I 1st planted about 5 years ago. I made the mistake of overwatering, thinking that I was helping them get started. It did kill a plant or 2, but it didn't spread.

Thanks I will check on both. These plants are very new. I just planted them last year. It has rained more this spring this year than it has in a long long time. I haven't had to water one time all year and normally I have to water every other day this time of year. There is water standing in the yard pretty much all the time.

Maybe consider a raised bed? I grow them in ground, and in raised beds.

Those are some good looking Raspberries. I only have a couple planted at this time but I plan to expand.
I can't find any borer evidence at the base of the plants. I assume it is too much water.
The raised beds may be the ticket. Boy if you woud have said I would have too much water in the spring and into June in 2014 after the droughts we had a couple years ago everyone would have laughed.
