Growing honeyberries from seed?

This is the first year my honeyberries produced, but the harvest is small (of course). I tried a few of the berries and they have that bitter blue berry taste that I really like, but dislike at the same time.

I opened some of the fruit to check for the green inside (unripe fruit) and realized that the fruit has at least 6 seeds and remind me almsot exactly like tomato seed.

Seeing as they are most likely the earliest fruit in the garden, and maybe even in the wild, I am a bit stumped as to germination. Seeing as they ripen so early my gut tells me that they should be sown asap, yet a lot of northern plants need cold stratification. Anyone try immediate sowing vs waiting?
