| Ive read hardy kiwis are susceptable to early spring frosts. Then why is my Issai kiwi flowering now in july? |

| My kiwis (anna, I believe) flowered in late may - early june. Hardy plants tend to flower later than other non-hardy types. The bloom season for issai is usually late spring. I have found that some plants bloom late in their first or second year of planting. If your plant is in its 1st or 2nd year, that may be the reason. |

| You got it right on the nose.... I planted it june last year, and it didnt grow too much. This year it seems to be working on pushing vertical vines, rather then the horizontal branches. I also had it in full sun, and noticed it wasnt doing too well. I put a big pot in front of it, and now its doing well. I read they are similar to grapes in how they grow.... and it is definitely reminding me of such! Thanks |
