Mullberry yellowing

I have a black superberry mullberry that I planted last summer. The leaves are turning yellow starting with the interior leaves and working out. Could this be a fertilizer issue? I have been using a tree and shrub fertilizer blend and have given it two applications this year.

RE: Mullberry yellowing

Countless people have posted problems here that are caused by chemical fertilizers. But I only remember one ever that posted a problem and fertilizer was the solution. I don't guarantee that is your issue, but recommend cutting the fert regardless.
