I have a baby Royal Lee cherry tree that I bare root planted in January. It leafed out a few months ago...but did not really grow. Slowly, the leaves have mostly dropped off. Now there are 4-5 leaves remaining. The branches are still all alive. Did this tree get water stressed and shut down? Perhaps I went a bit too long between watering (2-3 weeks). I don't know. It's twin sister is leafed out but not growing any.

Newly planted bare roots usually need water about once a week. More often if competing with other plant roots, weeds or trees. Water more and they can probably be saved.

fn...I think that is good advice. My thoughts exactly! thanks
