Have Patience with Pakistan Mulberry Cuttings

Last Nov, a generous Garden Web member invited me to scoop up the cuttings he was pruning off his tree. I came prepared with a few inches of water in a big bucket. I got several cuttings, and they were immediately stuck into the ground (per his instructions), and put on a drip system.

So, most died. One is a definite winner. Another looks like it will take off. Two are hanging in there, but not sure they have roots.

This photo is from the west end. The biggest was the first to show it has roots. Next to it is another that hasn't died, but not showing tremendous growth.

This photo is from the East End. We almost pulled the plug on the one in the gopher basket at the end because it sat for months and did nothing. Suddenly, last month, buds began to swell, and look at her today.

Just be patient. You never know!
