What is affecting this apple branch?

This is a Fuji apple tree. This one branch had wilted leaves and the unripe apples had gone soft/wrinkly.

I cut the branch off and you can see the cross section above. I have a pear close by that had fireblight, but that was much different looking than this (there was no blackening or wilting of branch, just the leaves/apples)

You can see the leaves are all good below it, but I'm concerned this disease will be moving down. How far into the healthy branch should I cut?

What makes you sure it's not FB? It can run down the cambium well below apparent damage. You'd better sterilize the pruning shears just in case. I'd cut until the wood and cambium layer looks healthy.

I didn't say I was sure, just that the symptoms on the pear were more clear cut with what I've seen online of FB than what I saw on the apple branch. (No blackening, shriveling branch on apples, just wilted leaves/soft fruit)

I'll sterilize and cut below...
