Hey, So I've had my cherry tree for about 2 1/2 years and it always grew fine until this year. I'm not sure if it's some bug or a disease so any help is greatly appreciated!

Looks like bug damage. There should be some frass or dark specks around the area. Has some insect nested inside the dead leaves? Many caterpillars will sew leaves together for a shelter.

Looking around, I found some green and gold beetles feeding on the leaves. I believe they're either False Japanese Beetles or Japanese beetles, but I'm not sure of how exactly to control them.
