This is a duke blueberry... I amend with compost in the spring mulch with pine needles (I have a endless supply so they are constantly getting fresh ones) I also added some osmocote. I noticed the yellowing of the leaves and I put down some aluminum sulfate to acidfy the soil (I had run out of ammonium sulfate). But the yellowing leaves are now outright dieing..... This picture was taken a week ago and now all the leaves are dead and the remaining fruit has shriveled up. I have been watering it (and it has been raining). last year I had a blue crop die this year it looks like this one is going to go... I also have a very healthy looking Herbert blueberry next to this... so I want to make sure that I can prevent that one from dieing as well since I don't know what it wrong.

It seems like either not enough water (sometimes even you water regularly medium like peat moss when dried up becomes hydrophobic and prevents water to get in the root) or too much water caused water logged due to drainage problem. If there is too much water blueberry plant dies even faster than lack of water. Take a look at the link I found below has very similar pictures like yours.

I don't like the use of aluminum sulfate for bbs. There is a risk of aluminum toxicity as the pH drops. Is it only part of the bush that has died? Do I see correctly that there is a healthy stem on the bush still?

aaahhh thank you inkfin!! Very helpful. Reminds me that I need to work on my irrigation system sooner versus later.

by the looks of the grass in the photo there is no shortage of water. Could be water logging your hole, or as mentioned above a problem with the stuff you are adding for acid
