Deer ate the foliage from Persimmon Tree

I planted 3 Persimmon Trees perphaps 2 years old about 3 months ago. 4 week after I planted them a deer came by and ate leaves from all 3. 1 tree barely had any damage and is growing fine. The other one had 25% of the foliage eaten but there is new growth on the tip of the branches. I'm worried about the other tree that you can see in the picture, it doesn't appear to have new growth as seen in the picture. Is the plant focus on root development or is it something bad.

It is still recovering, it will start growing new leaves soon I expect.
