Pluck Scarred Watermelon?

Yesterday, a rat went on a rampage and chewed up many of my melons and zuchinni. I caught it last night, so no further damage should happen. My largest watermelon has one bite on it, but its not too deep. Can it be saved, or is it gonna rot and I'll have to sacrifice it? I also have a honeydew about egg size, with light, barely noticeable bite/scratch damage on the flower end. Should I chuck that?

RE: Pluck Scarred Watermelon?

My experience has been with hail damage. Watermelon like that will make it until just before harvest and then bacteria will enter and the fruit will rot.
