I spied this plant growing near a wild elderberry, and while it looks similar in the berry-umbrellas it has, the leaves are a little different- they grow opposite but there's not one on the end of a branch. Does anyone know what it is?

Compare with Viburnum dentatum.

I agree with floral _uk. The leaves and berries look just like the arrowood viburnums growing in my yard.

The word "umbrella" would more properly be umbel in this case, or compound umbel in the above fruit.

Thanks - that looks like it, alright! Sounds like they may be edible but not terribly great; I'll skip it.
