 o
early seed sowing (Peach & Blueberry)

I have some peach and pink lemonade blueberry seeds right now. I live in SW Michigan (Kalamazoo area) and I would like to plant these in the spring. My question is would it be best to start the seeds now (in pots) so I can plant the small plants/bushes in the spring? Then if I do plant them now should I grow them inside or in my cold frame outside? I just want to give them a nice head start if possible. But I don't want to start them and have them die if they won't make it until spring. Thanks in advance.

Blueberry and peach seeds need a few months of cold to germinate so keep them in the refrigerator for a few months before planting, Be aware that the resulting plant may be inferior to the orignal plant it came from.

Chris

Stone fruits are easy to start from seed. I usually eat a couple fresh peaches off the tree and bury the seeds 2 inches deep. Next spring the seedlings will pop out off the ground for you.

I have been trying to find some pink blueberry seeds. I was wondering if you had any extra or could tell me where you got them? Thanks!
