Sprite and Delight

Any comments on Sprite and Delight cherry-plums? This is my first crop and all the Sprites are badly split. The Delight are also split but not quite as bad. This happened after a rain of about 2 inches.

Sprite has an interesting sweet taste but a very tart skin and the size is smaller than a golf ball.

The Delight are slightly larger and less tart. They are just starting to ripen so I need to wait a week or two to determine their final taste.

I'm hoping for better results next year. Does anyone like them?

The first crop of Sprite and Delight cherry plums are finished. I found it difficult telling when to pick them. They ripen over a period of several weeks so while some are not ripe others are shriveling up. The Delight skin was less tart then the Sprite but the flavor was not as good. Next year will determine whether they stay or get removed.

They sure don't sound promising!

I had similar problems with Sprite: splitting and then not knowing when they were ripe. The birds took all the later ones so I never tasted a fully ripe fruit before I took the tree out.
