Asian Persimmon in shade

Most of the time I am told to plant persimmon in FULL SUN. I am also told that they will over produce and must be thinned.I note that native persimmon tend to grow on the edge of the woods and in part shade. That when grown in part shade they do not produce as much fruit. I guess they would not need to be thinned> The asian grown in full sun will have sun burn .Do any of you grow Asian persimmon in part shade and avoid thinning and sun burn. What is best?
