Sickly blueberry bush

I have a Brightwell blueberry bush potted in a container. It has doubled in size since I bought it (4 months ago) and seemed to be doing very well, but in the last few weeks it has developed red blotches on the underside of many of the leaves (new growth seems fine), and some leaves are growing asymmetrically. Can anyone help identify the problem? Thanks so much.

I haven't seen that on mine. But given good growth it's probably not serious this late in summer. Even those affected leaves are nice color. Does that scale appearing stuff rub off?

All my Rabbiteyes exhibited these symptoms on older more mature leafs especially in late summer into fall. I believe it's powdery mildew and will not hurt the plant but it will make the leafs abort earlier than they should. The Rabbiteyes are such aggressive growers that it shouldn't hurt fruit production as long as it's still pushing new growth. Be sure to remove any aborted leafs this fall. You don't want those spores hanging around on the ground. I believe good cultural practices are needed with Rabbiteyes in humid regions for best plant health and fruit quality. Brightwell is a stand out variety. In a class of its own among the RAbbiteyes and hands down the best flavor of the varieties I've trialed. Do you have a different variety for cross pollination?

Thanks fruitnut, the red blotches don't rub off.
Blueboy - that's reassuring to hear. Thank you for the suggestions. I also have a homebell blueberry bush in a container about 25 feet away. I bought them both on sale at Lowes as they were frost damaged. I like the challenge of trying to revive something :-)
I enclose another photo showing some of the warped leaves.

About those warped leaves -- any chance that herbicides were used somewhere in the yard/garden? If so, could be (inadvertent) drift.

No worries about the leafs. They tend to twist and warp as they mature. Your bush looks very normal for a rabbiteye.
