| My small sour cherry tree has yellowing on about 10% of the leaves. Is this a disease? If so, what should I do?
TIA for any help! |

| I have a terrible time trying to post photos. My tress is about 8 years old. It has never had a really great crop. Two years I have been able to get one pie's worth of sour cherries from it. This year I think the birds got almost everything. It's about 12 feet tall and otherwise healthy. Just some of the leaves (less than 10% probably) are yellowing and have some black spots on them. I would guess this is a fungus of some type? Thanks for any advice. I will try to post a photo. |

| It sounds like cherry leaf spot. Hard to say without viewing a photo. Captan or Chlorothalonil can be sprayed to prevent further infection. A few leaves with spot are not a big problem this late in the season. If the issue is severe, then it is a problem as heavy defoliation can weaken the tree. Chlorothalonil cannot be sprayed after shuck-split when you have fruit on the tree. Now that this season's cherry |

| Your tree might be failing to take up soil nutrients, because the soil pH is too high. Yellow leaves can be due to high soil pH, so it would be a good idea to get this tested, or do it yourself. |
