When to pick peaches?

I planted a Frost Peach tree in my Seattle-area yard two years ago and it is already bearing fairly well. I have about 3 dozen peaches this year, but I don't know when to pick them. Most look pretty full size, and I am starting to find some on the ground. The ones on the ground mostly ripened indoors after a few days. Is the falling off the tree an indication that it's time to pick them all, or is something else going on here? Any advice on when to pick? Thanks.

I use pads on my fingers to check softness of peach light pressure should tell if ripe. Any finger that feels softness I pick peach. If all 5 finger feel softness I eat peach at tree.

Olpea suggested to me to pick when finding them soft to a slight pressure at the blossom end. Mine are Reliance and it worked well, any that were picked at that stage or later all ripened well within a day or 2 on the kitchen table.
