PS - my Burbank July Elberta ripens mid July most years. So another mid-season fruit would be . . . awkward.

Fantasia for July-August or Liz' Late for August-September are both delicious.

I also have a May Grand which ripens in May-June, if you're thinking early, also very yummy.

Snow queen, arctic star for white nectarines. Panamint and fantasia for yellow nectarines.

Thanks for the suggestions. I read a very careful evaluation (dissolved solids, acid, taste tests) from UC Davis that highly favors Zee Glo and Liz's Late for taste in late season nectarines. I think Fantasia was highly-rated also. I'm not much of a fan of low-acid or white nectarines.

My best fruit on average over the last six years has been Arctic Star nectarine. I really can't see any fruit lover not liking that fruit when it hits about 25 brix. The flavor is reliably sensational if not over watered. I haven't found anyone who doesn't like it. But maybe you have different tastes or growing conditions.

sunraycer is fantastic here. Almost no disease like shothole with bottom micro
spray watering even in all the humidity but maybe not for you

I ended up ordering a Zee Glo nectarine from our friends at Zaiger Genetics via Dave Wilson. Should arrive any day now. Late season, lots of sugar and acid. Supposed to taste really good.

I'll let you know in a year or three ;)

PS - I need an Indian Free peach scion if anybody in the area has one . . .

The tree is loaded this year. The fruit is indeed very sweet and tangy!
