| I couldnt find too much about this type of plum, other then that is supposedly delicious. I know they are a japanese plum, but what little information ive read about them places the tree in zones 4 5 and 6.
Knowing a bit about Japanese plums, I thought that they were only hardy to zone 5 max (with the exception of P. Nigra/americana X ). Anyone growing this, and anyone have any experience growing this in a zone 4 climate? |
Follow-Up Postings:
| I have them on my 4-in-1 tree. Very prolific variety. Perfectly hardy 20 miles west of Chicago. Rather average quality. |
| No experience growing Beauty in zone 4. Here it is a good pollinator, low-chill, and excellent quality if you let it get dead ripe on the tree. Sweet and juicy with plum wine undertones. It's also the earliest of my plums or pluots, but doesn't hold on the tree as long as the others. |
| I thought they were a hybrid with a native. Like Superior. |
