Blueberry plant...any hope?

I went out of town and my blueberry plant wasn't watered as expected. The stems are still green and when I broke the tip of a branch it was even green, so I'm hoping I've caught it in time. Any suggestions on what to do? I've watered it and moved it out of full sun. Central Texas sun is extreme! Thanks!

I've had partial leaf loss under similar circumstances. Mine came back without permanent damage.

You might want to soak the pot in standing water for 12 hrs. The rootball can be hard to rewet when it's that dry.

That looks bad, but I'd give it a shot like fruitnut suggested.

last winter I lost one of my container blueberries....I thought. No spring growth, so I chopped it up and tossed the rootball in the brush pile. In mid June saw a few green shoots popping out, so now it's back in a pot and growing.

Do I just put the pot in a container and put some water in the bottom? I watered it last night when I got home and again this morning. The soil was practically dust. It was so dry it didn't want to hold any water. It is finally holding the water now. How long will it take to get leaves again? I assume the brown leaves will just fall off. Am I right?

Yes put the pot in a pot of water and let it soak.

It should start pushing buds within two weeks if it's going to. You'll know by fall if it's OK. My guess is it will recover fully but only time will tell. Just ignore the brown leaves. They'll fall off on their own when ready. Prune off dead stems but only after you see what's leafing back out.

With green stems the top will leaf back out if the roots aren't dead.

Thanks! I've put it in a pot of water, and watered again. The stems are still green, so I'm hopeful it won't die! Thanks again!
