| I have a quick question on apple leaf numberings when they say that an apple in second leaf what does that mean? second leaf from what grafting? planting? At what stage from grafting to orchards usually plant trees? I have 25 trees that I grafted this year what leaf would they be in? 1st? or is this leaf not counted?

| Bare root plant or container plant goes into the ground. That is first leaf. Grafting onto an existing rootstock. The growth of the scion is first leaf. |
