What is the reason for composting the Blueberry bushes? Brady

I wouldn't think adding compost at any time would be bad. I would add more than a couple inches tho........I put about 4-6 around mine this spring. I used a combination of pine needles and peat moss. If you have pine bark that would be even better. I have noticed that it's really helped keep the soil around the plants cooler this summer......under the compost it's always nice and cool.

Agree, as long as the compost is acidic. Sounds like you are talking more about mulch than compost.
