OFM, my luck ran out!

Michael

Well, guess it was bound to happen some time. After 7 years of large, beautiful crops of peaches with absolutely no OFM damage they nailed me good this year! Strange thing, I wouldn't have been thinking about them other than watching for shoot tip strikes earlier in the year (none found) except that about 10 days ago they started showing up in large numbers in the CM traps in the apple orchard about 200 ft. away. Having never seen the moths before I identified them and then thought oh no, what kind of a mess is this crop in for? Well after processing about 20% of the crop, the answer is one heck of a mess. Guess I'll be battling another moth for years to come, oh joy.

Maybe I'll get lazy and just release a few billion Trichogramma wasps over the growing season next year to control the OFM, CM and Cabbage Loopers, sorry butterflies:)
