The plot thickens. This past spring I posted a photograph of what I thought was a 'fabulous' Belle of Georgia' Peach with all of its large showy blooms. Only to find out it was not a 'Belle of Georgia' peach, and they aren't well. . . fabulous. The tree is now netted with about 50 some medium sized peaches that are ripening. One fell off due to birds pecking through the netting (beginning to really not like birds during the summer). Cannot wait till I can un-wrap the tree and show you all these peaches. I cut the peach that fell, in half. Not only is it not a 'Belle of Georgia' it is a yellow cling stone peach to boot. Triple whammy!!! I looked up the mail order company from where it was ordered only to find out they went out of business. I hope they will ripen and sweeten up. Guess I'll be making more jam than I ever wanted! The skin of the peach is a dark red color and looks nothing like my much larger Elbertas. Will post pics next week. Mrs. G
