Are you from middle earth? What is a Y-Mill tree and what is a scrater?

Y-Mill is Yarlington Mill cider apple. But I'd also like to know what a scrather is.

Scratter is the UK term for grinder...used to crush/pulp the fruit before pressing.
I am actually in the midst of building a new scratter to replace one built on hobbit technology (wooden acels, pulleys and bushings) that went up in smoke (quite literally) when it got motorized a few years back.

The Yarlington Mill fruit was interesting, absolutely nasty, astringent as an eating apple but, blended with a few of the others, a tasty sweet cider was the result.
