I wanted to try Krymsk 86 because it is cross between cherry-plum and peach, but apparently no one is offering this to the backyard grower. Remnants of past inventories on the Cummins website shows that they did offer this a few years ago. They currently have peaches on Krymsk 1 cherry-plum rootstock listed for 2015. I thought there was a compatibility issue between peaches an K-1? Why did they ditch K-86? Does this mean some peaches are indeed compatible with K-1, or is this a time-bomb combination?
FYI, I already plan on trying a few trees on Citation to see how they do in my heavy clay-rock soil.
