Pomegranate winter care question

Hi,

I have a pomegranate (redsilk) planted this spring. It grew quite well in a container. In our zone, if I leave it outside, it can go below 32 degree. I am thinking move the pomegranate to an indoor garage (unheated, but attached to heated home), when winter comes.

In your experience,

1. When should I move the plant to garage? (at certain temperature? or when at the leaves fall?)
2. Do I need to do some tricks to ease the sudden environment change? (partial day in garage?)
3. Should I have LED growing light for it? (to ease the light change)

Thank you in advance

Alex
