Hi, all: I plan to order an indian free peach tree and notice that it needs a pollinator. All the information provided: another nectarine or peach needed to pollinate. To be a compatible pollinator, their blooming has to be overlap. I also plan to have arctic supreme peach, arctic jay nectarine, heavenly white nectarine trees. Is any of those could be a pollinator for indian free peach? Thanks, Hill

Those are all medium chilling varieties so bloom should overlap at least some. If even one overlaps in any particular yr you should be fine. I'd be happy with those odds.

Thanks, fruitnut. From Dave wilson nursery, indian free peach's bloom season is late to very late, while the varieties I plan to own are all around midseason. I am not sure how long they will overlap for I do not have first hand experience of the length of peach bloom season.

Bloom lasts about 10-14 days. All of mine overlap except one very low chill variety that blooms early. That's in my greenhouse not outdoors. We get frozen out so often outdoors I can't tell. My Indian Free was killed this yr by an April freeze along with about 80 other newly planted peach and nectarine.

Thank you for your helpful information, fruitnut. I can feel your pain for the loss of 80 trees. Mine will be planted outside. I still remember the cold of last April. But it did not freeze here.
