Blueberries as Groundcover

Just thinking....

I planted about 70 linear feet of various blueberries planted tightly around my patio. The idea is to have an edible privacy hedge.

As they are growing in, a bare space/area has developed at the base of the hedge.

I was thinking of using some lowbush blues (12" - 18" tall) to seal up the bottom and for extra fruit and no weeds.

Any suggestions or am I off the wall?

Mike

I am totally unfamiliar with the varieties of lowbush blues that would work in zone 5b in upstate NY.

My honey who is originally from Europe, says that wild blues growing low to the ground in the forest were the best.

I don't quite know the Google "search terms" to find these--GGG--
