Guava dying?

My Guava was full and growing great until about a month ago. I live on the Sun Coast of Florida and we have had lots of rain since May which we didn't have last 2 years, tree is 3 years old. Can you give me a good guess as to what is happening to my tree. I do fertilize but properly not as much as I should because of all the rain this year. I have cut so much of it back because of dead branches. Don't want to cut the whole tree but not sure what to do.

I would check for damage (infection or mechanical) to the trunk or roots.

I had a healthy guava tree that went downhill after getting oak root fungus.

In my experience guavas trees can be pretty persistent. I have seen trees in my yard and neighbors yard sprout up a new tree after the original one dies.
