| Hello Garden Web, I have searched the internet but can't seem to find what is causing these spots (see picture, sorry its not too good quality). My mom has had this apple tree for at least 8 years. She says that when she picks the apples, they look fine, no spots. Then when she leaves them in the fridge after a few days the spots appear. She then left one outside the fridge and the spots still appeared. She also told me that the spots extend into the fruit. Can someone help us out? |

| Most likely bitter pit which is similar to corky spot. Mine sometimes look like yours and some more like corky spot. This reference has a picture that looks more like what I see. It also has control recommendations. http://apps.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/profile.aspx?pid=607 |
Here is a link that might be useful: bitter pit
