I googled "Sunrise Red" raspberry, but could not find any info. Anyone knows much about it? One nursery has it listed in its catalog.

I took your challenge... the red raspberry variety you mention was released over 70 years ago as 'Sunrise'. It was an early-ripening variety and has been used in raspberry breeding over the years. It has probably been superseded by newer varieties that are earlier, like Prelude. Other than a few advertisements in old newspapers, here are a couple of documents referencing it:

Thanks. Some of the red raspberry plants are reported to have the "Sunrise" as one of the parents. But it appears this variety is just too old. So I figure the new ones should be much better....

You know, you never know, Still being around says a whole lot! Often new cultivars look good at first but years down the road problems develop. If it's a mail order nursery, I'm interested!

I just found this variety from a 1978 book on berries. It says: Sunrise: A very early variety that produces heavily and has good fruit. It is a parent to many other red raspberries.
