poor pear flavor

I have about 25 trees in my orchard, most are mature. I have 3 pears that are 10 years old and are planted about 10 feet apart. All three are fantastic specimens. Large trunks, great scaffolds about 8 ft tall. The fruit is large and beautiful. The giant asian pear fruit is consistently good flavor. The Stark delicious is anything but, it is bland and so is the moon glow. The flavor is almost non-existent. and the skin is almost bitter. It is the same if picked before ripe or if left on the tree until ripe.
They have never tasted good, but rain may be a factor-we got a lot this year.

I have been working on micro-nutrients foliar feeding with spray and grow and bills perfect fertilizer (fish)

What do I need to do to get great flavor. It is very disappointing because the trees and fruit are gorgeous.

Don't know about these particular ones but fruits of European pear cultivars often need to be stored under specific conditions in order to become palatable. Ones like 'Bartlett' that can be eaten off the tree are not really the norm for these.

Agree, European pears need to be picked while still hard and bland. Then store in fridge for a matter of weeks or months before ripening at room temperature. Asian pears ripen on the tree like an apple.

Moonglow is not a good tasting pear, and is only good as a pollinator. I'm so disappointed in mine that I'll be top grafting half of the tree next year and keeping the other half for pollination purposes. I don't even pick mine. I leave them for the birds.
