Is there a safe way to get rid of spider mites on raspberry plants. Someone told me to get Sevin, but I would like to use something more organic and non-toxic.

Sevin will make spider mites worse not better. It kills the mite predators and not the mites.

All seasons oil works pretty good if you don't have fruit on board. It marks my fruit. Not sure what it would do to raspberry fruit.

A spray with water every day will help.

There are many organic possibilities but I'm not sure how well any work. Harmony farm supply lists predators, spinosad, garlic, neem, hot pepper, insecticidal soap, and oil.

Thanks, fruitnut,
I went out today and cut down all the dead, infected branches, and now I am going back and will spray them down with water. Then if I have time, maybe I will try the neem oil or insecticidal soap.

It's been a bad year here for spider mites. I seem to be over the hump for the time being.

You want to try and control them with a daily water spray, especially under the leaves if possible, until the mite predator populations can maintain balance. Dry, bare, dusty dirt areas are their breeding grounds, so mulch and water to make for a less desirable spider mite environment.

Spider mite control is typically done in spring with oils before bloom stage as they are already on the move then.
