| Hoseman - A while back you posted something about growing Victoria peaches and that they were just about ready to harvest. Did you harvest them, and how did they taste? I was all set to order a tree for next year, but I just tasted some from my local farmers market and they were sort of bland. I'm hoping it was just a bad sample. I bought a few to ripen at home and try, but I'd love to hear your first hand experience. Thanks! |

| Bart, I have been picking since about September 10th, still have about 1/2 bushel on the tree. They are excellent, just finished eating two for breakfast! This is the first year of harvest, and the tree is loaded and the peaches still got large. They take more spraying than the earlier varieties for obvious reasons and last year I stopped spraying the Victoria peaches at the same time I stopped spraying the apples. I have probably picked over two bushels off this tree. Also, the height is about half of the Elberta trees and about in line with the Red Haven. |
