I have about 10 3 year old apple trees that have been showing a fungal disease problem, I think. This summer I noticed that the leaves looked dull and seemed thick and leathery, now some leaves are turning black around the edges and curling. Would it be a good idea to spray a fungicide before leaf fall? Also, If anyone can help me identify the problem I would appreciate your help. Thanks, Luke

I don't think that's a fungus, though pics would be helpful. The most common fungicide would be springtime sprays to control cedar apple rust. Which doesn't sound like what you are seeing.

I will get a pix asap, thanks
