Apple Identification

Hi, I've got this "bush" growing in my backyard. It has small green apples with white spots. I don't notice any thorns at all on the branches. I thought it was a quince, but I'm not entirely sure. I tried a little bite - the flesh was very firm and very sour. What ever it ends up being, what might it be good for? It would be nice to be able to make cider from it.

It looks like I can only upload one image to a post, so I uploaded multiple to tinypic:

I've never grown quince but that's probably what it is.
