| It is not a late bloomer. My Intrepid flowers within 2 or 3 days of Reliance, Elberta, Belle of GA, and Saturn; I haven't seen any particular advantage over Reliance and Elberta with regard to late freeze damage. It is larger than Reliance and the taste is excellent, but I think Reliance is very good also as long as it is picked when fully ripened on the tree. There is not a lot of difference in taste between the two but the Intrepid may be a bit better. It ripens between Reliance and Elberta--end of July/first of August at my place versus mid July for reliance and mid August for Elberta. |
