 o
Biloxi Blueberry in Zone 5 ?

The local Lowe's is selling Biloxi Blues in the Catskill NY (Zone 5b) store.

I looked up the hardiness for Biloxi and found mostly zone 7-8 with only one for Zone 5.

Does anyone here have any hands on experience?

Thanx
Mike

This year I purchased Sweetcrisp, rated to zone 7. I'm in 6a, I plan to grow in a pot and store in an unheated garage. It's warm enough in there to be like zone 7. Let us know how you do, I'll report also in the spring.

Drew,

The plants were in 1 gallon pots, nice, bushy 2 1/2 feet tall 18 inches wide at the widest AND $2.50 ( two and a half dollars) each. I bought five of them - could not resist the price

I also got Navahoe thornless blackberries also in 1 gallon pots, 2+ feet tall with 3 canes per pot ... also for $2.50.

I guess they figured that if they were not sold by end of September they would be going into the landfill.

I will plant 2 of the Biloxis in Purling and the other three down in Nassau County NY ( zone 7+)

Mike

Try your local Lowe's and try it.

My understanding is that they only have to pay the nursery "on scan".

Anything in stock now will not be worth returning to the nursery.
