Plum Tree Sucker

I cut this small tree back due to black knot. Thought I killed it. I think the disease was due to location. Is the black knot in the roots? Will this Santa Rosa come true from the sucker? I'm thinking about moving it and giving it another try. I also pulled Stanley & Shiro plums that had black knot which were nearby.
