And why are you considering Pierce's disease?

The vine is less than a year old and not even established. If it is some awful disease, you've only lost one year.

I'm considering this Pierce's just by the lookâ¦I would just like a diagnosis so this doesn't affect my leaves for next year. All the leaves are slowly going after being affected by whatever is posted in the pictures.

If it were Pierce's disease then for your vines there won't be a next year, they'd be dead. That disease is an issue only in warm winter climates. Where do you live?

The lower right pic looks like it might be phylloxera. What does the other side of leaf look like where those round spots are on top surface?

Nothing on your vines says they might die next year. It's normal for leaves to look ratty this time of yr.

I took some more pics so you can see and you can also notice whatever it is starting on the newer larger leaves as well.

Definitely not Pierce's.

Some small critters chewed on the leaves. Can't tell you what unless you can post an image after you find them.

In any event, the damage is too minor to be significant.
If you see continuing activity, search at varying times of day.

Pierce disease isn't an issue in NJ. Actually your plant looks excellent for this time of yr. It's normal to have a few insect damaged leaves. That's all I see in those last photos, nothing serious.

Doesn't look like Pierce's Disease. PD starts on the outer edges of the leaves.

Also, NJ is outside the range of PD. See below for another link - it has all the info you'll need.

I didn't find the answers to be sufficient because they weren't definitive. From the sounds of it maybe this is how some of the leaves look. It's just concerning because every week whatever damage that's on the leaves is spreading. In the link below you can see the change in some of the leaves as well as the backs.
