| Can you help identify this fruit? Its has a great big bloom with pink flowers in May, very much like cherries. The tree is about 5 metres tall. |

| Yes that's a crab apple. Cut the fruit the other way and you'll see the segments shaped like any other apple. Cherries fruit in spring not fall. |

| Apples might stay on the tree till spring when it becomes food for the migrating Robins, or it will be eaten in winter by the Bohemian Waxwings, lots do here. Or,... most fall to the ground to waste. |
