In the past, I waited until the leaves turned yellow and started to drop then I brought the pot into the shelter. The roots will be just fine as long as the ground was not frozen.

I would take it in if its forecast to go below 20F, however the leaves look.

I live in Charlotte,NC(zone 7b). I have got a bare root Angle Red pomegranate plant, It didn't survive. I have got another one it has still green when i scratch, but no new leaf growth.

I heard that Angle Red doesn't do good in Charlotte. Is it real? Any one has any experience?

Today I have seen one in lowes. I want to buy, but before spending somuch on the plant, I want to make sure, the zone 7 is okay with angle Red.

I have an Angel Red in zone 7b (although I'm very close to the 8A line). It's on the south side of my home and is somewhat protected but over the last 2 years, I've had some nights that dipped below 20F. Scott's advice is spot on I think... below 20F is pretty tough for them. Mine started to leaf out a few weeks ago but I've had significant die-back over the last two years. I now have just a few sprouts coming from near the bottom of the tree.
