Putting my Angel Red pomegranate to bed for winter

Hi all,

I am surprised by my Angel Red pomegranate's hardiness. We have had two nights of frost and the tree looks great. Shall I take it into the garage and let it go into dormancy there or wait till the leaves have fallen? It's currently in an 18 gallon tub. I just don't want the roots to freeze.

MG,

In the past, I waited until the leaves turned yellow and started to drop then I brought the pot into the shelter. The roots will be just fine as long as the ground was not frozen.

I would take it in if its forecast to go below 20F, however the leaves look.
