what do candy crisps apples taste like do the have a sugar cane taste like they say?

Not really, it seems to be very golden delicious like. Maybe more juicy, nothing special.

One apple which does have an almost pure sugar taste is the "Sweetie". I tasted it for the first time (from the store- I don't know about its availability as a tree) earlier this week. I forgot to write down the brix, but I think it was around 14. I remember thinking it was a bit low for something so sweet. They had good hardness and crunch, with little acid, but good flavor. The kids definitely liked it and I found it an interesting change of pace.
