Mine don't seem to want too come off the tree yet. Shouldn't they be ripe by now?

They just don't want to come off the tree. they taste alright. We had a Noreaster and none of them fell off the tree from the wind. The Granny Smiths came off.

We picked ours at the end of Sept and they were pretty ripe, certainly better than the 1st pick about 2 weeks earlier. Next year I'll wait until late Sept. To even consider picking the 1st time. Still learning.

Forgot to mention, at the early pick, the fruit had only slight signs of red stripes, at the late pick there was far more red color. Not what I expected.

Mine are just starting to come off the tree. They are quite tart still, strange. My Goldrush are coming off the tree and taste ready.
